Mr. O'Brien has worked for the NYC DOE SchoolFood program since 1991. During his 19 years of experience he has been a SchoolFood Manager, Technical Assistant Troubleshooter, Deputy Director of Field Operations, Regional Director for Manhattan and is currently the citywide Director of Food and Food Support. He has worked in all of the 32 school districts and has a broad understanding of the complexities involved in delivering a quality service to the students of NYC.
He holds an AOS in Culinary Arts and a BS in Food Service Management with a minor in Secondary Education from Johnson & Wales University as well as an MPA, Masters in Public Administration, from Baruch College CUNY.
He is a Baruch College Executives on Campus mentor and sits on the NYC Nutrition Education Network Steering and Envisioning Committee.
